Join Us in Reading A Book of the Bible Each Month of 2011

Just a suggestion!  We cannot command you to read a certain amount or a certain book each month.  We dare not bind where the Lord has not bound or add to His word.  However, the elders, Reagan, and I want to encourage each of you to read a certain book of the Bible each month in 2012.  Each month we’ll give you the book we’d like you to read.  During the month, if other matters are not pressing, we will try to preach a sermon or two from that book and to write an article or two in the bulletin based on truths revealed in the book.  Some of the books may be short; perhaps, you’ll have time to read them several times in the month.  This does not have to be the extent of your Bible readings or study. Just make it a part of your study.  Perhaps, families can read the book together as a devotional.

For January, read Matthew.

"Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?"

Luke 9:23-25
